Self-hosted Git, IDEs, databases and developer tools
Developer tools are what a team works in all day: the Git server, the editor, the backend behind an app and the database under it. Hosting them yourself keeps code and data on a machine you control, next to the projects they serve.
Gitea hosts Git with pull requests, issues and CI that can reuse GitHub Actions. code-server is VS Code in the browser, and Coder opens remote environments from Terraform templates. Hasura and Parse Server put APIs over a database, and InsForge is a backend for apps that coding agents build. LibreDB Studio is a SQL IDE in the browser, marimo a reactive Python notebook, and Kroki draws diagrams from text.
