Best Sliplane alternatives in 2026: flat-price container hosting compared

By the Pethost team · · Updated · 10 min read

You like how Sliplane charges, one flat price for a server and as many containers as fit, and you want to see what else works that way. Of the Sliplane alternatives we read in October 2026, four keep a flat price: Pethost, Elestio and Zeabur for a whole machine, Hostim.dev for each app. Pethost is the best value among them: €9.99 a month buys 2 vCPU and 3 GB, with Docker Compose run as written, nightly backups and 13 tools for your AI agent. Sliplane's €9 buys 1 vCPU and 1 GB.

In short
  • Sliplane's pricing is per server: €9.00 a month for 1 vCPU and 1 GB, €28.80 for 3 vCPU and 4 GB, with as many containers as fit.
  • The same model with more server: Pethost Starter, €9.99 for 2 vCPU, 3 GB and 30 GB: the best value we found, with Compose as written, 14 nights of backups, 30 days of request logs and an MCP server made for agents.
  • The other flat prices: Elestio's VM of 2 vCPU and 4 GB is $16.06 to $19.71; Zeabur resells a cloud's server of that size at the cloud's price, $4 to $27, with backups in a $5 plan; Hostim.dev charges €2.50 for each app of 1 GB.
  • Three apps, a bot and a Postgres: €9.99 on Pethost, €11.00 on Hostim.dev, $19.71 on Elestio, €28.80 on Sliplane, $34.75 on Render; $9.00 to $32.00 on Zeabur, by the cloud.

What Sliplane is: pricing per server, unlimited containers

Sliplane is managed container hosting from Berlin that charges for the server, not for what runs on it: “Deploy as many services on each server as it can handle, with no additional charges.” Traffic is included under a fair-use policy, and nothing sleeps.

Billed monthly, without VAT, a server in Germany or Finland is €9.00 for 1 vCPU and 1 GB, €17.80 for 2 vCPU and 2 GB, €28.80 for 3 vCPU and 4 GB and €45.00 for 4 vCPU and 8 GB, each with 20 GB of disk.

“Unlimited” means the count is not billed: the memory is the limit. One 512 MB app with a Postgres container is what the €9.00 server holds; on Pethost's €9.99 machine that pair fills a quarter of the 3 GB.

Sliplane is built for more than one small server: regions in the US and Singapore, dedicated-CPU servers from €54.00 a month, and a Managed PostgreSQL with point-in-time recovery from €19.00.

The last column, with its sources: managed Docker Compose hosting.

Flat-price container hosting compared: Pethost, Elestio, Zeabur and Hostim.dev

Pethost: 2 vCPU and 3 GB for €9.99

We sell what Sliplane sells, with more machine behind the price. €9.99 a month, without VAT, is a virtual machine in the EU that only your account uses: twice the vCPU and three times the memory of the €9.00 server. A project is a Docker Compose file, run as written. Postgres is one more container, in the nightly backup: not a managed database with replicas or point-in-time recovery. There is no free tier.

Elestio: a managed VM

Elestio's page says “Plans start at $11/month”. A pipeline for your own code starts at 2 GB, and the VM of 2 vCPU and 4 GB is $16.06 a month at Netcup and $19.71 at Hetzner. Elestio is built for ready-made open-source software: more than 400 titles it keeps updated.

Zeabur: a cloud's server, resold

Zeabur deploys onto a server you buy through it, at the cloud's price: 2 vCPU and 4 GB in Europe are $20 a month at Linode, $27 at AWS, DigitalOcean or Hetzner, and $4 at Tencent Cloud in Frankfurt. Its own blog reports that in August 2026 an attacker read customers' environment variables, API keys and database passwords among them. Zeabur is built for choice: eight clouds, and root on the server.

Hostim.dev: a flat price per app

Hostim.dev prices each app, not the server: €2.50 a month for 1 shared vCPU and 1 GB, €1 for a managed Postgres of 1 GB. Each service of a Compose file becomes an app on its own plan, and restoring a volume goes through support. It is built for one or two small services.

Sliplane vs Coolify vs Railway vs Render vs Fly.io

Sliplane sells a managed server. Railway meters memory and CPU by the second, Render prices each service, Fly.io each Machine; Coolify is a panel for a server you rent.

Railway, Render and Fly.io

Pethost Starter's 3 GB are $30.00 a month at Railway's rate before any CPU, $39.00 on Render, and $23.19 on Fly.io in Frankfurt before volumes and a database. They are built for what one machine cannot do: replicas, autoscaling, several regions. Railway vs Render vs Fly.io pricing goes plan by plan.

Coolify Cloud vs Dokploy Cloud: pricing of a self-hosted PaaS

Coolify and Dokploy both sell their panel hosted: Coolify Cloud is $5 a month for two connected servers and $3 for each more, Dokploy Cloud $4.50 a server. Both have an official MCP server, and both host the panel only: the server, its updates, its security and the storage for backups stay yours.

European PaaS alternatives: Clever Cloud, Scalingo, Koyeb and Northflank

Clever Cloud and Scalingo are French; Koyeb and Northflank have regions in Europe. All four price each container: 3 GB of always-on memory are $32.40 a month on Northflank, $35.07 on Koyeb with its $29 plan, €36.00 on Clever Cloud and €86.40 on Scalingo. They are built for teams that want autoscaling, GPUs or a SecNumCloud region in France. European hosting for an app with Postgres prices eleven hosts.

What three apps, a bot and a Postgres cost on Sliplane and each alternative

One workload on every managed host above: three always-on web services of 512 MB, an always-on bot, a Postgres and 10 GB of traffic a month. That is about 2.5 GB of memory: on Sliplane, the 4 GB server.

Per month. Bars compare at €1 = $1.1204, the ECB's reference rate of 5 October 2026
HostPrice a month
Pethost Starter€9.99
Zeabur, a Tencent Cloud server$9.00
Hostim.dev€11.00
Fly.io, your own Postgres$17.30
Elestio$19.71
Railway, memory alone$23.15
Northflank$25.05
Zeabur, a Hetzner server$32.00
Sliplane€28.80
Clever Cloud€29.25
Render$34.75
Fly.io, Managed Postgres$53.24
Koyeb$59.98
Scalingo€64.80

Railway's figure is memory only, on our assumption of use: each 0.1 vCPU a service uses adds $2. Fly.io's are Ashburn's prices. Northflank does not state its smallest database plan: it may be $27.75. Zeabur's include its $5 plan.

The bills near €10 buy different things. Zeabur's $9.00 is a Tencent Cloud server and a plan for its backups; on a Linode server it is $25.00. Hostim.dev's €11.00 is five plans, and a sixth service is one more. Pethost's €9.99 is the whole machine: the next project adds nothing while it fits.

Backups, logs and an MCP server for your agent

Sliplane backs up volumes daily and keeps them 7 days; its documentation warns that such a backup “may not be consistent for actively written databases”. We back up every project each night, encrypted and off the machine, and keep 14 nights. Sliplane keeps up to 15,000 log lines from the last 7 days; we keep every HTTP request for 30 days.

Both have a hosted MCP server with a sign-in through your browser. Sliplane's “mirrors the Sliplane public API”: about 75 operations by our count, creating and deleting servers among them, with no rollback tool and a restore for its managed Postgres only. Ours has 13 tools made for agents: deploy, read logs and requests, roll back, back up, restore. It cannot pay for anything or change your account.

Claude Code

You say: If my machine has room for one more app, deploy this one.

  • GetMachine 2 cores, 3 GB memory, 1.17 GB in use, 6 projects

  • GetOperation succeeded

The agent answers: There is room: six projects use 1.17 GB of your 3 GB. It's live at https://notes.sam.pethost.app

What €9.99 a month buys on Pethost

Starter is the best value among flat-price container hosts: €9.99 a month, with the work around the machine done. On Sliplane the first server that holds 3 GB is €28.80.

Also in the price: an HTTPS address for every project, a deploy on every push to GitHub with an earlier commit one step back, SSH into any container, and security updates that install themselves. Grow is €17.99 for 4 vCPU, 6 GB and 60 GB; Sliplane's €17.80 server has 2 vCPU and 2 GB.

As many containers as fit. Six projects, eleven containers, three of them Postgres: 1.17 GB of a Starter machine's 3 GB.
The Pethost panel's first page: the Starter machine's CPU, memory at 1.17 GB of 3 GB and disk, and six projects as cards, each with its address, its requests of the last day and its services.

What if I just rent a VPS at Hetzner?

You can. An agent on a bare server works as root over SSH: nothing tells it what runs there, and one wrong command takes down the proxy, a database or the firewall. On Pethost it works through 13 tools, and its shell is inside your containers, never on the machine.

And a server is not sure to cost less. Hetzner is the one guides and assistants name first, at prices it no longer has: it raised them twice in 2026, and its cheap Cost-Optimized range has long been out of stock. Those servers are hardware it bought at good prices, before the RAM shortage, and on 5 October every plan of the range was marked “not available”. The 2 vCPU, 4 GB server it does sell, CPX22, is €19.49 a month, up from €7.99. Add a panel, backup storage and your hours. Starter is €9.99 with those done.

Who Pethost is for

Pethost is the best pick for

  • Solo developers with several side projects, bots and small apps, on one bill of €9.99
  • Developers with a compose.yaml who want it run as written
  • People who build with Claude Code, Codex or Cursor and want the agent to deploy and debug what it wrote
  • Early startups that want a fixed bill in euros, on a machine in the EU

Look elsewhere if

  • Your application needs several regions, autoscaling or a managed database with replicas: here one machine is the limit
